This is an excellent introduction to crusty bread. In this class we will make an easy, straight dough with a tight but soft and chewy crumb suitable for a hearty grilled cheese, a simple tomato sandwich, a fancy avocado toast, or for dipping in your favorite olive oil. The class will shape and bake individual margarita pizzas for lunch while waiting for the bread to ferment. Students will make two small loaves to take home, which can be transported home in a paper bag.
This class is not eligible for fee remission for Ivy Tech employees due to limited capacity. Please see our CLL fee remission guidelines for more information.
NOTES:
- All CLL baking and cooking classes culminate with a shared meal or supplementary food that will be available during the class.
- All supplies included. Students will receive copies of the recipes, as well as any remaining food to take home. Please bring containers to take home any leftovers.
