This class is for all who wish to learn the specifics of pinch formwork. You will explore pinch, slab, coil, and hand-built forms, stressing, centering, wedging, as well as raising pieces in one continuous movement. Finding One’s Way with Clay, by Paulus Berensohn, is the text and the method used for this class (not required to purchase for class).

The piece featured in the class image was created in a previous offering of Finding One's Way with Clay by Linda McCoy.

An additional class meeting for a Raku firing is included in the registration fee in addition to the listed sessions. This will be scheduled at a time and location to be determined following the last class meeting.

NOTE: This class is not eligible for fee remission for Ivy Tech employees due to limited capacity. Please see our CLL fee remission guidelines for more information.

OPEN STUDIO HOURS: This class will have open studio hours available throughout the week (including Saturday hours) to all registered students to work on class projects outside of class time as needed, as well as to pick up any pieces that still need to be fired following the end of class. Specific details about the open studio hours schedule will be provided in initial communications prior to the start of class. Please inquire to lifelonglearning@ivytech.edu for any questions or concerns regarding open studio hours.
