We’ll make and assemble the components of a classic Black Forest Cake: chocolate genoise sponge soaked with Kirsch syrup, cherry compote, and whipped cream. Each student will make and take home a tall 6” cake. Kirsch is a cherry flavored brandy which gives the Black Forest Cake its signature flavor. We won't be using Kirsch to intoxicating levels, but please keep this in mind if you are wary of alcohol and understand that an alternative will compromise flavor and integrity. This course includes both demo and hands-on components that you will learn in Ivy Tech’s professional kitchens!
This class is not eligible for fee remission for Ivy Tech employees due to limited capacity. Please see our CLL fee remission guidelines for more information.
