Fitness isn’t impossible, and it doesn’t have to be about setting personal records weight lifting or running marathons. Functional Fitness is about staying healthy and fit enough to do what you want to do, whether that's carrying your own golf clubs, gardening, or just staying active. The key is to get started!

This class will focus on three aspects of functional fitness: overall strength, flexibility, and balance. The movements will generally be whole body movements and imitate “real life” movements. Participants may wish to consult with their physician prior to taking this class if they have any medical issues.

No prior fitness experience is necessary, and modifications will be offered to make each exercise do-able for every student. This class is open to all adults ages 18+ and is perfect for anyone who wants to put more life in the years they have ahead!

SUPPLIES: Students do not need to purchase any materials, but we will use the following household items:
- A wall to press against
- A bit of floor space
- A sturdy chair with a back, but without arms
- A bath or beach towel
- A long belt or strap
- A tennis ball
- A pencil
- A thick, dense pillow
- A light set of hand weights: women might consider 2 or 3 pound weights; men might consider 3 or 5 pound weights
- A heavier set of hand weights: women might consider 5 or 7.5 pound weights; men might consider 7.5 or 5 pound weights
- 2 supports: either large, sturdy books or Tupperware containers, or yoga blocks.
