Learn to preserve your favorite summer-time fruits and vegetables for use year-round. This class will explore the water bath canning method for preserving garden-fresh fruits and vegetables. Several recipes will be provided, and each participant will get hands-on experience using the water bath method. Additional topics will include food safety, pressure canning, pickling, jams, and jellies. Participants will take home their own canned fruits and vegetables.

This class is not eligible for fee remission for Ivy Tech employees due to limited capacity. Please see our CLL fee remission guidelines for more information.

NOTES:

-  All CLL baking and cooking classes culminate with a shared meal or supplementary food that will be available during the class.

-  All supplies included. Students will receive copies of the recipes, as well as any remaining food to take home. Please bring containers to take home any leftovers.

-  We will do our best to accommodate dietary/allergy restrictions, though please be aware of the class details and potential limitations of ingredient substitution.

-  Ivy Tech Bloomington is a tobacco-free campus. Participants in CLL classes are expected to adhere to Ivy Tech's Code of Student Rights and Responsibilities.
