Biotechnology Summer Camp (Rising Grades 9-12) (Non-credit)

Explore the Science Behind Life-Saving Medicines!

Curious about how medicines are made—or thinking about a future in science, biotech, or engineering? Join our Biotechnology Summer Camp this June and get an inside look at one of Indiana’s most important and fastest-growing industries.

Designed for students entering grades 9–12, this hands-on camp takes you into real laboratories, where you’ll learn how pharmaceuticals are produced and try out the same equipment used in the biopharmaceutical manufacturing industry. You won’t just watch—you’ll do!

Throughout the week, you’ll discover how biotechnology helps create life-saving drugs, explore what careers in the field actually look like, and learn about the well-paying job opportunities available to students who pursue biotech and related STEM fields.

You can take the camp just for your own enrichment and fun, but if you want, you can also complete some assignments during the week to earn one college biotechnology credit!

No prior experience required—just curiosity and a willingness to explore. If you want to learn how science turns into real-world impact, this camp is for you!

All supplies will be provided for lab activities.

YOUTH SCHOLARSHIPS: A limited number of scholarships are available for Ivy Tech Youth Programs participants. Students must be eligible for free or reduced lunch through the National School Lunch Program to receive a scholarship.
