Ivy Arts Forward is a new full-day camp offering this summer for rising 6th-8th graders with a passion for the creative arts who want to continue developing fundamental skills across multiple disciplines, similar to our Ivy Arts for Kids program. In smaller group sizes and with the opportunity to explore clay and visual arts mediums in more depth, participants in Ivy Arts Forward will have the time and resources to try a range of new projects or focus on creating a few masterpieces over the course of the week with an emphasis on individualized instruction and development.
Ivy Arts Forward is intended for participants with some previous experience and interest in the arts who are motivated to continue exploring their creativity and developing skills. We'll start the week by discussing potential focus mediums and projects. Mornings will be devoted to 2D mediums, with options in watercolor, oil/acrylic, drawing, and mixed media. After a break for lunch, afternoons will shift focus to ceramics, fiber arts, and 3D design. While participants will be encouraged to explore a variety of projects and learn how different disciplines can interact, there will be the opportunity to go deeper into specific mediums as preferred.
Camp Showcase: Ivy Arts Forward culminates with an art showcase on the last day of camp, giving family and friends the chance to see their young artist's creations on full display!
All materials and equipment are provided. Participants will need to plan to bring a water bottle, sack lunch, and snacks as needed.
Camp Communications: Information about sign-in/sign-out procedures, parking and directions, our end-of-camp art showcase, and schedule reminders will be provided via email the week before the start date. All camp communications will be sent from lifelonglearning@ivytech.edu.
