Beginning Knitting - Scarves, Hats, & More!

Knitting is a cornerstone of fiber arts. Its rich history spans cultures and centuries, with few changes in the modern world. If you’ve thought of taking part in this craft and creating your own knitwear, this class is the perfect place to start. In this class, you’ll learn everything needed to complete your own project, including reading a pattern, choosing the correct yarn for a project, knitting styles, and caring for knitwear. These basic techniques translate to most knitting patterns, and will allow you to move forward to new projects with a foundational knowledge. We’ll create our own knitting circle and experience the community and discussion that comes along with sitting together and practicing the same craft. No experience is required to take part.

Supplies: A supply kit with everything you'll need for class may be purchased from the instructor with cash, check, or Venmo on the first day of class (estimate cost of $40-50). A list of materials for anyone who would like to bring their own supplies will be provided a week before the start date along with classroom/parking directions and schedule reminder.
