Introduction to Mosaics - Flowerpots

Discover the art of mosaics in this introductory course with Sara Colvard, as we apply ancient Roman patterns to decorate your own beautiful and functional flowerpot! In this course, Sara will teach a brief overview of Greek and Roman mosaics, how to choose a geometric pattern and transfer it to a plain terra cotta pot, how to utilize nippers to shape tile pieces, and how to use mortar and grout to create and finish your mosaic. By the end of the course you will have learned a core foundation from which to explore additional styles and techniques of mosaic.

Mosaic flowerpots are perfect for the beginner, as well as for those who may think they have no artistic ability. Regardless of your experience level, you’ll be able to take home a unique and useful creation! 

All skill levels welcome, all materials and supplies will be provided.

YOUTH ELIGIBILITY: This workshop is open to adults, as well as youth participants ages 12+ who plan to attend with an authorized adult who is also registered.
