Introduction to Smartphones & Tablets

Are you only using your smartphone to make calls or limiting your tablet use to browsing the internet and want to learn more out of those devices? In this course, we’ll offer participants a hands-on, beginner-friendly environment designed to help you confidently navigate the fundamentals of your smartphone and tablet, followed by a 1-on-1 session in which each student will have the opportunity to go through their specific interests with the instructor. Whether you're totally new to these devices or just want to improve your skills, this class will guide you through the essentials to get the most out of the tools and resources available with your device.

What you’ll learn in class:
- Getting Started: Learn how to power on, set up, and customize your device for the first time.
- Navigating the Interface: Understand the home screen, apps, and how to move between screens.
- Communication: Master texting, calling, and setting up email accounts.
- Using the Internet: Learn how to browse the web, download apps, and stay safe online.
- Managing Photos & Files: Discover how to take, edit, and store photos and videos.
- Helpful Tips & Tricks: Explore hidden features, shortcuts, and settings to make your device work for you.

This course is compatible with Android and iOS smartphones or tablets, and no prior experience is necessary.

Schedule Note: This class will involve an initial group class meeting at StoneGate Arts & Education Center in downtown Bedford, after which we’ll schedule everyone for a 1-hour 1-on-1 session with the instructor to be able to fully answer your specific questions.
