Acting Ensemble for Littles: How the Grinch Stole Christmas is a theater arts class for young, budding performers that builds upon their interest in acting, movement, storytelling, and self-expression—all while having a wonderfully silly, Seussian time! Designed especially for Littles in Grades 1-2, this class will use a dramatized version of Dr. Seuss’s beloved holiday classic to explore a colorful cast of characters, a playful rhyming world, and a heartwarming story about kindness, community, and the joy of sharing.
As members of an acting ensemble, students will learn how to work together to tell a story on stage while practicing foundational theater skills including voice, movement, listening, focus, stage directions, character creation, and beginning script work. Through theater games, guided scene work, and imaginative play, budding performers will build confidence, strengthen communication skills, respond to cues, and learn how each actor contributes to the whole group as they prepare for a Who-filled final showcase of How the Grinch Stole Christmas on December 12.
