The next chapter! Learn about the foundation for watercolor painting – paper! Students will receive a sample packet of various weights and finishes of paper to test and evaluate. Then we’ll play with various methods of creating texture in our paintings. Negative painting is next, then we’ll finish off with a lesson on painting botanicals.

Students will be asked to work on projects outside the classroom. In class, the students share their artwork and learn to improve through encouragement, gentle critique and advice.

PREREQUISITE: Previous instruction in beginning watercolor is required.

SUPPLIES: For the first class, students should bring 140# watercolor paper and any brushes and watercolor paints they have on hand. The instructor will provide a complete list needed for the remaining classes, but please consult with the instructor before purchasing supplies!
